The Washington State Gambling Commission (WSGC) is the second oldest gambling regulatory agency in the nation. The Legislature created the WSGC in 1973 after a series of gambling related scandals. The WSGC’s mission is to protect the public by ensuring that gambling is legal and honest.

WA State DSHS – Problem Gambling

Governor’s Office of Indian Affairs
The Governor’s Office of Indian Affairs, recognizing the importance of sovereignty, affirms the government-to-government relationship and principles identified in the Centennial Accord to promote and enhance tribal self-sufficiency and serves to assist the state in developing policies consistent with those principles.

National Indian Gaming Commission (NIGC)
The National Indian Gaming Commission was established pursuant to the Indian Gaming Regulatory Act of 1988. The Chairman of the Commission is appointed by the President and must be confirmed by the Senate. The Secretary of the Interior appoints the other two Commissioners. The Commission hires full-time staff to perform the legal and regulatory requirements of the Act.
National Indian Gaming Association (NIGA)
The National Indian Gaming Association is a non-profit organization of 184 Indian Nations engaged in tribal gaming enterprises from around the country. NIGA works with the Federal government and Congress to develop sound policies and practices and to provide technical assistance and advocacy on gaming-related issues.
